3699014 - Recovery of encrypted SAP HANA backups fails on new system due to missing encryption root key

Symptom

Recovery of an encrypted SAP HANA database backup fails with an error indicating that the required backup root key cannot be found in the key store. The recovery process stops with messages similar to “Backup rootkey … is required for decryption of backup files but not found in key store” or “No root key matching hash …”. Creating a new local backup after the restore attempt does not resolve the issue.
