3699057 - Character limit restriction in notes field for Manage Direct Activity Allocation app in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

There is a limitation in the number of input characters allowed in the Item Text field in app Manage Direct Activity Allocation when creating a timesheet posting. This field limit is different from the Notes field in timesheet applications.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the app "Manage Direct Activity Allocation - New Version".
2. Upload a time sheet posting with a description containing more than 50 characters.

When using the app "Manage Direct Activity Allocation" for timesheet postings, data is written directly to the corresponding Item Text field in the resulting Journal Entry. Meanwhile, the Note fields in other timesheet applications uses a different method with an extension table for data storage, which then allows the Item Text field in the Journal Entry to read the extended data.

 The limitation is inherent to the current system design. If it is necessary to have detailed Notes data storage, consider using other timesheet apps.
