3699274 - Unable to Change Date Format Placeholder Text in Goal Plans

Symptom

Date fields within a goal have placeholder text with a date format you'd like to change:

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Goal Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to SuccessFactors
  2. In the module picker, select Goals
  3. Select a goal plan > Create Goal
  4. Select a goal option
  5. In one of the date fields, remove the date
  6. A format is shown on how to type in a date, but the format cannot be adjusted

Cause

The date format is system-defined and cannot be changed.

Resolution

Date formats are pre-defined within SuccessFactors, and the formats are different depending on the language of the user. Some examples are below:

  • English (US) will see a recommended format as MMM d, yyyy
  • Suomi (Finnish) will see a recommended format of dd.MM.yyyy

An outline of the formats for each language is documented in Managing User Information - Date Formats for Different Locales.

If you think the possibility to customize date formats would be useful for your business, please share your ideas via Customer Influence Portal for our Product Management team to review. Once you have submitted your idea, other customers and partners can vote for it and your votes help us to prioritize ideas that we will consider for upcoming product releases.
