Symptom
Date fields within a goal have placeholder text with a date format you'd like to change:
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Goal Management
Reproducing the Issue
- Log in to SuccessFactors
- In the module picker, select Goals
- Select a goal plan > Create Goal
- Select a goal option
- In one of the date fields, remove the date
- A format is shown on how to type in a date, but the format cannot be adjusted
Cause
The date format is system-defined and cannot be changed.
Resolution
Date formats are pre-defined within SuccessFactors, and the formats are different depending on the language of the user. Some examples are below:
- English (US) will see a recommended format as MMM d, yyyy
- Suomi (Finnish) will see a recommended format of dd.MM.yyyy
An outline of the formats for each language is documented in Managing User Information - Date Formats for Different Locales.
