3699471 - How to Manage Product Hierarchies Using the Migration Cockpit

You are handling product hierarchies, and would like to know how to massively manage them using the Migration Cockpit app.

There are 2 migration objects available to manage Product Hierarchies:

1. Product Hierarchy
2. Product Hierarchy Assignment

The Product Hierarchy object is used to migrate entire structures to the system. It does not allow for the update of existing hierarchies or the inclusion of new products.

It is worth noting that it is possible to migrate a product hierarchy structure using the same root hierarchy ID as an already existing one. However the system will interpret the data as being the same hierarchy in a different point in time, hence only allowing the migration if the validities imported in the migration template do not overlap the existing hierarchy validity in the system.

The Product Hierarchy Assignment migration object is used to assign new products to existing hierarchies. During the migration, it is required to set the hierarchy ID as the ID from an existing hierarchy from the system. From there, it is possible to add products under any subnode of the hierarchy.
