3699712 - "Create Indiv. Customer" field is greyed out after clearing the Company Name field

Symptom

  • When the Account Name field is filled during Lead creation, the system automatically disables the "Create Indiv. Customer" field.
  • After clearing the Account Name field does not re-enable the flag, forcing the user to close the Lead creation screen and restart the process to create a Lead with "Create Indiv. Customer" option selected.

Environment

  • SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Select the Sales Work center 
  2. Open the Leads View
  3. Click on "+" to create a new Lead.
  4. Enter data in the "Account Name" field.
  5. Observe that the "Create Indiv. Customer" flag becomes disabled.
  6. Clear the "Account Name" field and observe that the flag remains disabled.

Cause

When the Account Name is entered, the system implicitly assumes a corporate account and switches the Lead to an Organization context. The "Create Indiv. Customer" flag is locked to prevent inconsistent master data. Clearing the Account Name does not prompt the system to re-evaluate the Lead type within the same creation session.

Resolution

  • This behavior is by system design.
  • To create an Individual Customer, users must restart the Lead creation process without entering an Account Name.
