3699931 - Warning message MEPO823 is issued in transaction ME29N for POs using Release Strategy and Version Management - SAP ERP & SAP S/4HANA

Symptom

  • When trying to edit a Purchase Order (PO) in transaction ME29N, the system issues the warning message 'Purchasing document xxxxxxxxxxx cannot be released' Message No. MEPO823.
  • It is not possible to release the POs, because the Release Options column is not available in the Release Strategy tab.
