Symptom
When assigning an Resource(Employee) to a service order item in the Dispatching Board, the assignment is successful, but the system displays negative available hours in the Resource Availability section without showing any error message.

Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to the Service Orders work center and open the Dispatching Board.
- Open an existing Service Order.
- Select a Service Order Item and view the Resource Availability section.
- Click Add Resource and search for the employee using the menu button.
- Assign the employee and enter the planned hours.
- Save the assignment.
- Observe that the Resource Availability section displays a negative value.
Cause
The negative availability is shown because the employee has no working time model assigned, so the system considers the employee’s availability as 0 hours and displays a negative value when a task is assigned
Resolution
Step 1: Check Working Time Model Assignment for the Employee
- Navigate to Time Administration.
- Go to Employees.
- Select the affected employee and click Edit.
- Open the Time Profile tab.
- Go to Work Schedule.
- Verify the Time Model under redefined Work Schedule Time Model field.
- If no time model is assigned, this confirms the cause of the issue.
- Navigate to Business Configuration.
- Open Implementation Projects.
- Select First Implementation and click Edit Project Scope.
- Go to Scoping.
- Navigate to Human Resources Element.
- Select Time and Labor Management.
- Verify whether Work Schedule is selected.
- Click Next Questions.
- Under Human Resources, select Time and Labor Management, then select Work Schedule.
- Verify the business question “Do you define work schedules which can be reused for several employees?”
- If the question is not in scope, select it and Finish the scoping.
Step 3: Create a Working Time Model
- Navigate to the Time Administration work center.
- Open the Time Model view.
- Create the required Model such as Daily Model , Period Model.
- Define the working hours and select the relevant country.
- Save the time model.
Step 4: Assign the Time Model to the Employee
- Navigate to Time Administration and select Employees.
- Open the affected employee.
- Navigate to Time Profile and go to Work Schedule.
- Assign the Working Time Model.
- Save the changes
Step 5: Verify in Dispatching Board
- Navigate to Service Orders work center.
- Go to the Dispatching Board.
- Reassign the service order item to the employee.
- Verify that the negative availability value is no longer displayed and the working hours are shown correctly.
