3700353 - Error: “Event Reason is mandatory for jobInfo” When Initiating Onboarding From Recruiting

• Error message: "An error occurred while saving the HRIS data for the user due to the following reason: {"responsePayload":[{"userSysId":"XXXXX","hrisSaveStatus":[{"elementType":null,"key":null,"statusCode":"ERROR","errorInfo":"Event Reason is mandatory for jobInfo"}]}]}."
• Onboardee does not appear in the onboarding dashboard after onboarding initiation.
• Event reason is mapped using the Recruit-to-Hire data mapping tool but still results in validation errors.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. In Recruit-to-Hire Data Mapping, map the Event Reason field from Recruiting to Employee Central.
2. Initiate a candidate from Recruiting into Onboarding.
3. Navigate to:
   To-Do → Business Process → scroll to the Business Process tile
4. Observe the onboarding process fails with the user validation error: “Event Reason is mandatory for jobInfo”
5. Verify the following:
   The Event Reason field is enabled in Manage Business Configuration
   The integration payload (Suite Integration Test / JSON response) shows a non-null value for Event Reason.

• Configuration mismatch between the external code and label of the RCM picklist value and the Event Reason ID and Event Reason Name of the EC Event Reason field.
• The system uses the standard Event Reason FO object during processing, and the mismatch prevents the required value from being passed to Job Information.

1. Ensure that the external code and label of the RCM picklist match:
   - Event Reason ID
   - Event Reason Name of the Employee Central Event Reason field.
2. Enable the event-reason field in Manage Business Configuration (if not already enabled).
3. Update the Recruit-to-Hire Data Mapping so that only fields enabled in Manage Business Configuration are mapped.
4. Restart the onboarding process for the affected candidate from:
   To-Do → Business Process
5. Validate the setup by: Re-testing the scenario and confirming successful onboarding initiation without user validation errors
