3700437 - Postal Code Validation is active in Manage Business Partner Master Data app for USA country despite deactivating it in the SSCUI " Set Country-Specific Check"

Symptom

The Postal Code field is validated when creating customer master data in "Manage Business Partner Master Data" app, despite the postal code requirement being disabled in the configuration activity “Set Country-Specific Checks” for USA Country.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to “Set Country-Specific Checks”.
  2. Disable the postal code mandatory check for the USA country by putting Length and Checking rule as blank.
  3. Save and activate the configuration.
  4. Attempt to create or change a customer master record without a postal code in "Manage Business Partner Master Data" app for USA Country.
  5. Observe that the system raises an error indicating that the postal code length is incorrect.

Cause

Due to incorrect configuration step in SSCUI 102592 - Set Country-Specific Check

Resolution

  1. Access to SSCUI  102592 - Set Country-Specific Check and select USA Country.
  2. Select the postal code length under Formal Check heading and enter Length as 10 and Checking rule as 0 Deactivate Postal Code Check for USA.
  3. Save and activate the configuration.
  4. Attempt to create or change a customer master record without a postal code in "Manage Business Partner Master Data" app for USA Country.
