3700501 - Onboarding Steps Require Page Refresh to Reflect Completed Status - Onboarding

After completing an Onboarding step, the step status on the dashboard or To-Do tile does not immediately reflect the completed state. The status continues to show as In Progress or pending. After manually refreshing the browser page, the status updates correctly to Completed.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Log in as a responsible user or participant assigned to a New Hire Data Review or another Onboarding step.
2. Complete the step by submitting all required fields.
3. Navigate to the Onboarding Dashboard or the To-Do tile without refreshing the page.
4. Observe that the step status still shows as In Progress immediately after submission.
5. Refresh the browser using F5 or the browser's refresh button.
6. Observe that the status updates to Completed after the refresh.

Step status updates in SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding are processed by the Business Process Engine (BPE). When a user completes a step, the BPE task that governs the status transition executes asynchronously. The dashboard view loaded at the time of step completion reflects the pre-completion state and does not automatically update until the page is reloaded. The Completed status becomes visible only after the BPE task finishes and the page is refreshed.

To see the updated step status after completing an Onboarding step, refresh the browser page to allow the Business Process Engine to complete the status transition.

1. After completing the step, wait a few seconds for the Business Process Engine to process the completion event.
2. Refresh the browser page using F5 or the browser's native refresh button.
3. Verify that the step status on the Onboarding Dashboard or To-Do tile now shows as Completed.

Note: If the status does not update to Completed after refreshing the page, the BPE task may have encountered a processing error. In that case, contact SAP Support and provide the onboarding process ID for further investigation. If this delay is impacting business operations, submit an enhancement request referencing KBA 2090228.

Expected Result: After refreshing the browser, the Onboarding step status reflects the Completed state as processed by the Business Process Engine.
