3700768 - Explanation of Address Format in the app "Print Document Extracts - Thailand" - S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

There exists a comma between the District and City fields in the address format.

For the addresses of suppliers from certain countries, the system automatically converts the District, City, and Country/Region fields to uppercase letters.

Environment

S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Use the Print Document Extracts - Thailand app.
  2. Review the address format for suppliers from certain countries.
  3. Observe the presence of a comma between the District and City fields.
  4. Observe the automatic conversion of District, City, and Country/Region fields to uppercase letters.

Cause

  • The comma between the District and City fields is a standard behavior added by the development team according to the structure of the address.
  • The automatic conversion of District, City, and Country/Region fields to uppercase letters is based on International post guidelines specifying that the city and country in foreign addresses are output in uppercase.
  • Additional processing in the code has been carried out for addresses in Japan due to specific business requirements, therefore they will not be automatically converted to uppercase.

Resolution

This is a standard behavior.

To modify the format of the addresses, implement the BAdI ADDRESS_PRINT_FORMAT to meet specific business requirements.
