Symptom
In the customer return process (Scope Item BKP), replacement materials may have a different value (higher or lower) than the original material. However, the system automatically generates a free-of-charge replacement order and does not allow the value to be changed for the replacement order.
How to process the replacement order with a different value?
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a return order.
- Enter the refund type: Replacement Material.
- Save the return order.
- Observe that the system generates a free-of-charge replacement order and does not allow the value to be changed for the item.
Resolution
- Replacement orders are free, and the value of the replacement material cannot be changed.
- Workaround: Use the refund type "Credit Memo" for the return order, which means refunding the original amount to the buyer and then asking the buyer to place a new order.
- To address the need to change replacement material's value, submit this requirement as a feature request through the Customer Influence Portal under the session SAP S/4HANA Cloud for Sales.
