Symptom

When replicating workers from SuccessFactors Employee Central to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, the replication fails with the following error messages:

  • Unable to process workforce person record.
  • Controlling area cannot be determined for [specific value].

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Attempt to replicate workers from SuccessFactors Employee Central to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition.
  2. Observe the replication failure with the error messages:
  • Unable to process workforce person record.
  • Controlling area cannot be determined for [specific value].

Cause

Company codes for the replicated cost centers do not exist in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system.

Resolution

  1. Verify whether the correct value of the company code is being sent from the source system.
  2. Ensure the company codes exist in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition system.
  3. Proceed with the worker replication again after correcting the company code values.
