3701242 - Planned useful life and expired useful life cannot remain "0" when using the migration cockpit to migrate asset master data - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

When using the migration cockpit to migrate fixed asset master data, both planned useful life and expired useful life are entered as '0'. However, after the migration is completed, the corresponding fields still display values in the Manage Fixed Assets app.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Use the Fixed Asset - Master Data migration cockpit.
  2. Prepare a migration template with 0 value for the fields "Planned Useful Life" and "Expired Useful Life".
  3. Upload the template file to the migration cockpit.
  4. Execute the migration process.
  5. Verify the migrated data in the manage fixed asset Fiori app.

Cause

When using a depreciation key other than 0000/MANU, the system automatically applies the logic defined in the configuration "102609 Make Valuation View-Dependent Settings for Asset Class." In this scenario, even if 0 is entered in the template, the system updates the useful life according to the specified asset class settings.

Resolution

To maintain a Useful Life and Expired Useful Life of 0 as per the template, it is necessary to first adjust the depreciation key to MANU or 0000.
