3701498 - Featured Cards behavior and configuration in Latest Home Page Experience

Symptom

After enabling the Latest Home Page Experience in Company System and Logo Settings, the changes described in SAP Help Portal - Changes Included in the Latest Home Page Experience are expected, including the introduction of Featured Cards.

However, there is uncertainty regarding:

  • Where Featured Cards are displayed on the home page
  • How to configure or manage Featured Cards
  • Whether additional Featured Cards can be added

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

Resolution

Featured Cards are displayed near the top of the home page:

These cards are automatically generated based on the features enabled in the instance and the user’s permissions. They are informational and do not necessarily require user action.

Examples include:

  • Notification of a received recognition or award
  • Reminder of upcoming events, such as a direct report’s birthday

In the Legacy Home Page experience, these informational cards appeared in the For You Today section, mixed together with tasks that actually required action.

Configuration and Customization

Customizing Featured Card Illustrations:
Each Featured Card includes a default illustration, which can be customized:

  1. Go to Admin CenterManage Home Page.
  2. Select Featured Cards.
  3. Choose the desired card.
  4. Click the Edit (pencil) icon.
  5. Select Upload an Image.

Image requirements:

  • Supported formats: JPG, JPEG and PNG
  • Maximum file size: 2 MB
  • Minimum dimensions: 110 x 110 pixels

Important: The image must be square
If a non-square image is uploaded, it may appear correctly in the preview but will be cropped on the home page.

For additional information, refer to SAP Help Portal - Managing Featured Cards on the Home Page.

Alternative Text:

Alternative text provides a description of the image for accessibility purposes, such as screen readers or when the image cannot be displayed.

  • The text should be short, descriptive, and relevant
  • If not maintained, the image is treated as decorative
  • Translations can be maintained using the Translate option

Important: Maintaining alternative text does not change the Featured Card title. The Featured Card title cannot be modified.

Enabling or Disabling Featured Cards visibility

As of the 1H 2026 release, it is possible to control the visibility of each Featured Card type.

To enable or disable a card type:

  1. Go to Admin Center → Manage Home Page.
  2. Select Featured Cards.
  3. Use the Enabled toggle to show or hide each card type.

Note: Disabling a Featured Card removes it from the user interface only. It does not delete underlying data or stop card generation. If the card is re-enabled, previously generated cards will be displayed.

For additional information, refer to SAP Help Portal - Ability to Hide Featured Cards on the Latest Home Page

Available Featured Cards

The Featured Cards listed under Manage Home PageFeatured Cards represent the card types available in the instance. This configuration (Enabled toggle) controls only the visibility of the cards on the home page and does not control how or when the cards are generated.

The number of available Featured Cards may vary depending on the instance configuration. In some cases, only a few cards are available, while in others, more than 10 card types may be present.

Example:

As of the 1H 2026 release, a new Featured Card named Mobile App Promotion was introduced.

  • This card is displayed only in the web application, not in the mobile application.
  • It provides a link to Mobile User Settings, where additional information about the mobile application is available and activation can be performed.

Requirements for visibility on the home page:

  1. The Enabled toggle is active in Manage Home Page for the Mobile App Promotion card.
  2. The user has the Mobile Access permission enabled under:
User Permissions → General User Permission → Mobile Access

For additional details, refer to SAP Help Portal - Mobile App Promotion Card on the Latest Home Page.

Note: With the exception of Work Anniversaries, Birthdays, and Mobile App Promotion (which are platform-level cards), the availability of Featured Cards is controlled by the respective module responsible for each card type.
