3701520 - The document type of the purchase requisition generated for the production order external operation cannot be configured in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

In configuration activity 102373 - Define MRP Groups, a custom document type is maintained for the purchase requisition. However, for purchase requisition generated for the production order external operation, this document type is not considered. Purchase requisition of type NB is always generated.

This is expected system behavior.
The configurations in the MRP group will only affect the MRP process. It will to affect the purchase requisition of the production order external operation.

Currently in SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, the document type of the purchase requisition of the production order external operation cannot be changed. NB will always be used. This is the system design.
