3701563 - How to change a BW BW/4HANA system closed for changes?

Symptom

  • In a BW/BW/4HANA landscape with closed QA/Production systems, any changes made in the Development or Quality system (data and metadata) requires to be transported to the closed target system (production); direct changes in the target system are not allowed.
  • Error message "SAP System has status 'not modifiable'" occurs when an object is edited in the target system
  • You require to change this configuration and open the system for changes
