3701592 - Error running currency conversion data action

Symptom

While running a data action for a currency conversion there is an error:

Error message: "Initiating changes to the public version '<<version name>>' failed, so the data action '<<data action name>>' couldn't run: Could not convert from '<<currecnyfrom>>' to '<<currencyto>>' on '<<date>>'.
Please provide missing rates for all needed types, categories and versions in the rate table."

The Data Action Monitor shows this message:
"Initiating changes to the public version '<<version name>>' failed, so the data action '<<data action name>>' couldn't run.
Please check for other errors about this version, or check its data access control settings"

Reproducing the Issue

Execute Data Action 

Cause

  1. First and most common is a security issue with a combination of Data Locking and Data Access Control.
  2. The rate is indeed missing.

Resolution

  1. Verify that the support user has access to the model, data action, and story used to launch the data action.
  2. Test the Data Action using an Admin user account to confirm the issue persists.
  3. If the issue persists, check the rate table values and ensure all required rates for the specified types, categories, and versions are present in the Currency Conversion table.
