Symptom
When you check the product availability quantity in the Create Sales Order app and the Change Sales Order app, you find that the results are different.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Create a sales order via the Create Sales Order app.
- Trigger the availability check and record the confirmed quantity and availability information shown.
- Save the sales order and note the order number.
- Access the Change Sales Order app and open the same sales order.
- Trigger the availability check again and compare the availability quantity results.
Cause
The cumulation methods in the Create Sales Order app and the Change Sales Order app are different.
For the Create Sales Order app, the ATP result is based on the parallel requirements' open quantity, while for the Change Sales Order app, the result considers the parallel requirements' confirmed quantity.
For example, if there are 500 units in stock and 2 sales orders. Sales Order 1 has the following confirmation information:
| Request quantity | Confirm quantity | Available stock | |
| Sales order 1 | 300 | 250 | 500 |
When creating Sales Order 2 in the Create Sales Order app, the ATP check will show 200 units available (500 - 300).
However, after saving the document and checking in the Change Sales Order app, the ATP check will show 250 units available (500 - 250).
Resolution
Always use the Change Sales Order app to perform the ATP check, as it will show the real situation.
