Symptom
In a production proposal, output product has planning quantity A, input product has planning quantity B. In related BOM, output product has quantity A, but same input product has quantity C.
B and C are very close but different.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to work center Supply Control, access view Process Production Proposals.
- Select a production proposal, click Edit.
- Select the tab Products, then the sub-tab Output Products. Verify that output product has planning quantity A.
- Select the sub-tab Input Products. Verify that an input product has planning quantity of B.
- Navigate to work center Planning and Production Master Data, access view Production Models.
- Search for related production model and click Edit.
- Select tab General sub tab Details, and open BOM.
- Verify in the tab General and Variants that output product has quantity A.
- Verify in the tab Input Products that same input product has quantity C.
Cause
In related BOM, output product has quantity A, while in related BOO, output product has different quantity D (open related production model, select tab Bill of Operations, sub tab BoO Details, find this quantity). When creating a new production proposal, calculations are performed between these two quantities, resulting to rounding for the input product.
Resolution
Create a new BOO with same output quantity as BOM, use this BOO to create a new production model. Release this production mode. After that, new production proposal created with latest released planning model will have no rounding in the quantity of input product, if the output quantity here is the same with that in BOM.
