3701713 - Paste option not working for multiple line items in Purchase Requisition and Supplier Quotation Apps

When attempting to add multiple line items (for example, material, quantity, delivery date, net price) from Excel or clipboard into item tables, the paste functionality does not work in the following applications:

• My Purchase Requisition
• Manage Purchase Requisitions
• Create/Manage Supplier Quotation

The paste function may be disabled or unresponsive, and the items are not added to the table.
In some cases, users may encounter errors such as “material not assigned” or other paste-related error messages.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open the My Purchase Requisition, Manage Purchase Requisitions, or Create/Manage Supplier Quotation applications.
2. Attempt to paste multiple line items (e.g., material, quantity, delivery date, net price) from Excel or clipboard into the respective item tables.
3. Observe that the paste function is either disabled or does not respond, and the lines are not added.
4. In some cases, errors such as "material not assigned" or other paste-related errors may appear.

This behavior is due to technical and design limitations:

• In some applications, paste functionality is not supported for item and limit item tables because of constraints related to inline item creation mode, which does not support reliable mass insertion of data.
• In other applications, copy, paste, and delete actions are intentionally restricted by design, as the application process is designed to derive items from preceding documents (for example, copying from a source document) rather than allowing manual item manipulation.

• This behavior is by design and cannot be changed via configuration.
• As an alternative, users can create items individually, copy items from preceding documents.
