3701861 - Timesheet Import Alert Displays Custom Message in Default English Instead of System Language

Symptom

Issue:
A custom alert message (e.g., Time Valuation Alert) is defined in the system with multiple translations for different languages.

Observed Behavior:
When the alert message is triggered by the Time Sheet Import Job, and the user’s system language is different from English, the message is displayed in English instead of the user’s login language on Time Sheet UI.

Expected Behavior:
The alert message should appear in the user’s system language if a translation exists.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central – Time Sheet
  • SAP SuccessFactors Time Tracking

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Import external time data for a user, including parameters that trigger the specific alert.
  2. Change the system language setting to a language other than English.
  3. Navigate directly to the user's timesheet and verify that the custom message text appears in the default English translation instead of the selected system language.

Cause

The issue occurs due to a system limitation: the alert message generated during the import process is translated based on the language setting of the import user (v4admin), which defaults to US English. It is technically not possible to translate the alert message into the system language during the import process.

Resolution

An enhancement request, including business justification, should be submitted via the Customer Influence platform to address this limitation in future releases.
