Symptom
When absences or holidays are synced from SAP SuccessFactors Time Off to the Microsoft Teams / Outlook calendar using the SuccessFactors Teams app, subsequent changes made in SuccessFactors are not reflected in the calendar.
Customers may observe one or more of the following behaviors:
• Absences or holidays remain visible in the Teams/Outlook calendar after being rejected, deleted, or updated in SuccessFactors.
• Cancelled or rejected absences continue to appear as calendar events.
• Previously synced holidays remain in the calendar even after switching to a different holiday calendar.
• Users do not receive any notification in Microsoft Teams informing them that the absence or holiday was changed.
• This results in outdated or incorrect calendar entries, causing user confusion and requiring manual calendar clean-up
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time off
Reproducing the Issue
1. In SAP SuccessFactors, ensure that the Microsoft Teams App is enabled and that Sync Absence to Calendar and/or Sync Holiday to Calendar is configured.
2. As an employee, submit a Time Off request or sync holidays from SuccessFactors to the Microsoft Teams / Outlook calendar.
3. Verify that the absence or holiday is successfully created in the Teams/Outlook calendar.
4. In SuccessFactors, perform one of the following actions on the same absence or holiday:
• Reject the Time Off request
• Delete or cancel the absence
• Update the absence dates or status
• Change the assigned holiday calendar
5. Observe the Microsoft Teams / Outlook calendar.
Observed Result
• The previously synced absence or holiday remains visible in the calendar.
• The calendar entry is not automatically removed or updated.
• The user does not receive a notification in Microsoft Teams informing them of the change.
• Manual calendar clean-up is required.
Expected Improvement (via Enhancement)
• The user receives a notification card in Microsoft Teams when an absence or holiday is rejected, deleted, or updated in SuccessFactors.
• The notification provides an option to sync and keep the calendar up to date, helping remove or update previously synced entries.
Resolution
- The enhancement WRK-3291 is required to address the issue.
- This enhancement ensures that users receive notification cards in MS Teams when a Time Off request or holiday is rejected, deleted, or updated in SuccessFactors.
