Symptom
Connection to Databricks as a JDBC datasource in SAC is never successful, and gives an error.
Environment
- SAP Analytics Cloud
- Databricks
Reproducing the Issue
- Edit DriverConfig.properties file for the Cloud Agent to add location of Databricks JDBC driver
- Restart the Cloud Agent
- In SAC, select Connections -> Add SQL Databases
- Select the new Databricks option
- Populate the correct values and click Create
Cause
Support for Databricks as a datasource was only added as of version 1.0.423 of the Cloud Agent. There was a subsequent update as of version 1.0.439.
Resolution
In order to use Databricks as a datasource in SAC, you should be on the latest version of the Cloud Agent.
If you are on a version earlier than 1.0.423, Databricks will not work. It is recommended to keep the Cloud Agent current as changes are made for various datasources periodically.
