3702160 - Issue with Spaces in Key Field Values provided by ETL Tools - SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit (Staging Tables)

For the migration approach Migrate Data Using Staging Tables, it is required to fill the staging tables with data. Staging tables can be populated with data using preferred ETL tools (e.g., SAP Data Services).

If such a tool is used to populate the staging tables with data, key field value must not contain spaces after the value, for example "001 ". These spaces are also known as right spaces or trailing spaces.

If key field values contain a space after the value, the following situations could occur:

• The error "Staging table doesn't exist or failed to get data from staging table &1" could appear on the Migration Object Instance Details screen.
• After the simulation or migration process, the error "Mandatory field &1 of staging table &2 cannot be empty; enter valid data" could occur.
• After the simulation or migration process, the backend job fails. An ABAP programming error, and runtime errors of type ITAB_DUPLICATE_KEY could occur.
• After the simulation or migration process, the relevant migration object instances are not displayed on the Migration Object Instances, Messages screen.
• It is not possible to delete the relevant migration object instance.
