Symptom
In Advanced Intercompany Stock Transfer (5HP), the intercompany sales order is not created automatically. In the Monitor Value Chain app, the error message "Item 1234 has no committed quantity; will not be transferred to sales order" is displayed for the corresponding purchase order, even though the purchase order status is shown as Completed.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Create an intercompany purchase order using transaction code ME21N.
- Save the purchase order.
- Open the app "Monitor Value Chain".
- Confirm that the intercompany stock transfer order (IC-STO) is visible in the app.
- Observe that the intercompany sales order is not created automatically.
Cause
The item in the purchase order has no committed quantity due to insufficient availability stock for the Material, hence results in that error. since the sales order only receives items that have confirmed quantities, the creation will fail entirely if no items have a committed quantity.
Resolution
Verify that the material 1234 has enough "Available-to-Promise" (ATP) quantity to cover the requirement so the system can proceed with the creation of sales order with the confirmed quantities.
- Open the app "Monitor product availability" and open the respective material 1234 from the Purchase order.
- Under 'ATP situation', check the value under the column "Cum. ATP qty"
- If the quantity here is less than what you have specified in the purchase order, the automatic sales order creation will fail.
- Maintain sufficient availability stock for the material according to business needs.
- Once the item has a committed quantity, it will be transferred to the sales order automatically.
- Note that the status of the purchase order in "Monitor Value Chain" will remain as "completed" even if no committed quantity exists, as the purchase order is an initiating step and does not influence item confirmation status.
