Symptom
The global search functionality does not return results when searching for customers (e.g. individual customer) using their address details.
Environment
SAP Sales and Services Cloud Version 2
Reproducing the Issue
- Search for the address of an individual customer in the global search functionality.
- No results are returned.
Cause
Relevant address-related fields are not enabled as searchable in Field Query Properties, which prevents individual customer addresses (for example, Street Name and House ID) from being retrieved via global search.
Resolution
Once the feature is enabled for your tenant, follow the below steps.
- Click on User Menu
- Select All Settings / System Settings.
- Search for Extensibility Administration and open it.
- Under Business Entities, search for Individual Customer Service.
- Select Individual Customer Address.
- Go to the Field Query Properties tab (third tab).
- Enable the Searchable option for relevant fields, such as Street Name and HouseID.
- Test the global search to verify that searching by Street Name and HouseID returns the expected results.
