3702849 - Error Message no. CI_DRAFTPRD_MESSAGE706 in the Manage Product Master Data (F1602) app - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

When creating a Material through the Manage Product Master Data (F1602) app you receive the following error, where & is a Material Type.

You can not use classification using product type &.

Diagnosis:

Using classification for this product type is not allowed by the system.

Procedure:

if you want this product type to allow classification, contact the system administrator.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Open Manage Product Master Data (F1602) app.
2. Use the Create option.
3. Maintain the relevant Material Type.
4. Error appears when trying to Save.

The relevant Material Type does not have the Classification view maintained.

Enable the Classification view for the Material Type.

1. Open the Manage Your Solution app.
2. Choose Configure Your Solution.
3. Locate the Product configurations.
4. Find Define Attributes of Material Types and Configure.
5. Double click the MTyp entry for the relevant Material Type.
6. In the "User departments" section you can see the enabled views for the Material Type.
7. Locate the Classification view, ensure that it is ticked and Save.
