3702863 - Error in address field exceeding permitted length in withholding tax reports

Symptom

Error message: "Length of the value 'xxxxxxx' exceeds the max. permitted length 40" for the element "ROAD" in Run Statutory Reports

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to "Run Statutory Reports" app.
  2. Choose "Thailand Withholding Tax - PND53 – Local Supplier" or "Thailand Withholding Tax - PND54 – Foreign Suppliers".
  3. Execute the report and observe the status is "Generated with Errors"
  4. In the View Document Log, the error "Length of the value 'xxxxxxx' exceeds the max. permitted length 40" for the element "ROAD" is displayed

Cause

  • The field ROAD in the supplier master is mapped to the field STREET, which has a length of 60. However, the output is explicitly restricted to 40 characters.
  • As a result, only 40 characters are allowed currently. While this limitation is in place for now, it may be considered for adjustment in future releases based on reported cases and internal evaluations.

Resolution

  1. Update the company code address using SSCUI 105651 - Edit Addresses for Company Codes. Ensure the value entered in the Street field does not exceed 40 characters. Utilize other fields such as Floor, Building No., and Room No. to accommodate additional details.
  2. Alternatively, edit the address directly in the "Run Statutory Reports" app before executing the report. Select the report and use the "Edit Address" option to make necessary changes.
