Symptom
Apache Subversion as the repository for Version Management has been deprecated as of SAP BI 2025 and higher as seen in KBA 3560025. However after upgrade to BI2025 or above,
- A LCMSubversion service is still found to be up and running although the <install dir>\**\subversion\ folder was removed from the file system.
- Could it be something with the installer that it did not remove the subversion service due to some issue ?
- Also, for migrating existing SVN repo to Git using "migrateSVNtoGIT" script, the LCMSubversion service is needed to be up and running during repository migration process. Could this be the reason LCMSubversion service is available in BI2025 on windows if any customer wants to migrate the repo from SVN to Git ?
- The challenge is to get this service running in case customer want to migrate from SVN to GIT, then, we also need the related executable files present in <install dir>\**\subversion\. However, 'Subversion' directory and its contents are removed fully, so do we get it from 4.3 environment if the LCMSubversion service is required and must be started ?
