Symptom

Information about the limitation of number of products in a product model.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Product Development work center.
  2. Select the Product Models view.
  3. Select All Product Models from the dropdown.
  4. Search for the product model and choose Edit.
  5. System takes time to load the page.

Cause

SAP Business ByDesign does not support adding more than 50 products to a single product model due to extensive dynamic logic executed for each product and its related properties. Exceeding this threshold results in performance issues.

Resolution

Limit the product model to a maximum of 50 products to maintain system stability and high performance.
