3703285 - [Feature in development] Support for Datasphere Tunnel live connections in SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office

Symptom

  • Currently, the SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Excel Add-In cannot display data from a Datasphere tunnel live connection.
  • The Datasphere tunnel live connection does not appear in the "Select Data Source" dialog within the SAC Excel Add-In.
  • The Datasphere direct live connection is visible.  

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud, add-in for Microsoft Office

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the SAP Analytics Cloud Excel Add-In.
  2. Sign in to the SAC tenant.
  3. Click "Add Table".
  4. In "Select Data Source" dialog, attempt to select a tunnel live connection.
  5. Notice that the tunnel live connection is not visible under the SAP Datasphere section.  

Cause

The SAC Add-in does not currently support Datasphere tunnel live connections. 

Resolution

  • The SAC Add-in development team is working to enable support for this feature as soon as possible.
  • Progress is dependent on certain prerequisites that need to be fulfilled by the Datasphere team, and this process is currently underway.
  • Follow this KBA for updates on further progress.
