3703556 - Legal Change of Japan Subcontract Act (Legal Name Change)

Symptom

Legal change of JP Subcontract Act already has been publicly announced by Japan Fair Trade Commission on May 16, 2025. To align with the guidance, SAP Ariba needs to change the Japanese field label of JP Subcontract Act from 下請法（Shitauke-ho) to 取適法\（Toriteki-ho.)
The legal change is effective from January 1, 2026.

Environment

SAP Ariba Buying and Invoicing and Guided Buying have fields associated with the JP Subcontract Act. The old legal name: 下請法（Shitauke-ho) in the features has been replaced by 取適法 (Toriteki-ho), which is the new official naming announced by Japan Fair Trade Commission. The changes will now reflect not only in the field labels but also messages and import files.

The change of the label also impacts the import/export channels since import/export files related to subcontracted requisitions contain "Is subcontractor" field as part of it. So, if you try to import the file that contains the old text label, it will cause an error during import due to inconsistency in the field name.

Please export the new file format first and then utilize it to import your subcontracted requisitions.
