Symptom
This article describes a known issue in CX Apply or New Candidate Experience wherein:
- Candidates can bypass required or mandatory fields.
- Candidates are able to save applications even after removing answers from required or mandatory fields.
- Candidates can submit the application (on initial application) without errors even when required or mandatory fields are not populated.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Reproducing the Issue
Scenario 1:
- Candidates apply to a requisition when CX Apply is enabled.
- Ignore or bypass the answer from a required question in the application.
- Candidate will be able to submit the application and ultimately apply to a requisition without errors.
Scenario 2:
- Candidates apply to a requisition when CX Apply is enabled.
- Edits the application.
- Ignore, bypass, or remove the Answer from a required question in the application.
- Candidate will be able to re-submit the application without errors.
Scenario 3:
Customer has an Application Change rule applied on the requisition.
Resolution
Recruiting Engineering has separate investigations on the 3 scenarios.
Scenario A. Whether your customer has multi-stage application enabled, and candidates can submit on initial application while bypassing required fields.
- Status: Initial Investigation
Scenario B. Whether your customer has multi-stage application enabled, and candidates can edit their submitted application and remove their answers on required fields.
- Status: Investigating root cause and preparing for a patch.
Scenario C. Whether the customer has an application change rule that affects the CX Apply flow.
- Status: Patch Creation In-Process
- Cause: There is a race condition which leads to the on change rule execution getting a lower priority to the Next Button's request flow which was causing some inconsistencies.
