Symptom
Error occurs when editing and submitting a Leave of Absence for approval with pending status.
Error messages:
- "Please check your time sheet. This time off request might require a recalculation as of XX/XX/XXXX.";
- "Your changes require a time management recalculation. However, the recalculation event date is before the earliest recalculation date as configured in time management configuration!";
- Also raise the error "errorMessage=An application error occurred. Please try again later, or notify support if the issue keeps occurring." containing errorId, fingerprint, timestamp, release, server, Theme Id information.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Admin Time for employee;
- In Absences, the leave shows with a new end date but still shows as pending leave status;
- Edit the leave with a different leave and submit to approval;
- The approver accepts the change, but the system displays the message errors above.
Cause
The issue is caused by the configuration of the Earliest Possible Recalculation Date in Time Management Configuration. The recalculation event date for the affected leave is earlier than the configured Earliest Possible Recalculation Date, preventing the system from completing the recalculation during workflow approval.
Resolution
- Navigate to Manage Data in Admin Center;
- Select "Time Management Configuration";
- Edit the "Earliest Possible Recalculation Date" to a date earlier than the start date of the affected leave of absence.
