3703659 - Validation of HANA connection error in Datasphere if the SCC mapping has Virtual Port set to 443

Symptom

Validation of HANA Connection in Datasphere ends with error:

  • Data Flows: Cause: Remote source is down! Cause: SAP DBTech JDBC: Cannot connect to jdbc:sap://<HOST>:443 [Cannot connect to host <HOST>:443. PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target -813: <IP>:<PORT> -> <HOST>:443 ConnectionID:<MASKED> SessionID:<MASKED>].
  • Replication Flow: Cause: Remote source is down! Cause: SAP DBTech JDBC: Cannot connect to jdbc:sap://<HOST>:443 [Cannot connect to host <HOST>:443. PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target -813: <IP>:<PORT> -> <HOST>:443 ConnectionID:<MASKED> SessionID:<MASKED>].

Environment

SAP Datasphere

Reproducing the Issue

Validate HANA Connection in SAP Datasphere

Resolution

This is a current limitation.

As a workaround, do not use 443 as the Virtual Port.
Instead, set the Virtual Port to a non-443 value, for example the same value as the Internal Port (e.g. 30015).
