3703670 - Error Occurs When Trying to Cancel Production Order

Unable to cancel a production order after it has just been released. Following error messages encountered:

• Action failed
• -----> Action failed; error while finishing tasks.
• -----> Action failed; error while closing lot.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to Production Control work center,
2. Open Production Orders view.
3. Search for desired production order ID.
4. Click on the Cancel button.
5. Observe the error messages:
   "failed
   -----> Action failed; error while finishing tasks.
   -----> Action failed; error while closing lot."

The system is working as expected. When attempting to cancel a production order, the system triggers the finish action for all associated tasks. If the relevant financial period for posting the tasks is closed, the production order cannot be canceled.

Open the relevant financial period for posting the associated tasks. Then the cancellation of the production order could be executed.
