3703763 - SQL0204N / SQLSTATE 42704 or unixODBC errors with SAP HANA Smart Data Access (SDA) to DB2 after system copy

Symptom

After a system copy, BW processes (e.g. RSA1, DTP, RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL) fail when accessing a remote IBM DB2 database via SAP HANA Smart Data Access (SDA).
In SAP HANA indexserver or SDA traces, errors such as the following can be observed:

  • DB2 error SQL0204N / SQLSTATE 42704 (object or name not found)
  • unixODBC errors indicating missing or invalid DSN or driver configuration

The issue typically occurs although the SDA remote source connection and credentials appear to be correctly maintained.
