3703987 - Error: Reason 1. ariba.cxml.core.CXMLInvalidCurrencyException: Missing or invalid currency

Symptom

Invoices in the SAP Business Network are failing to send to our SAP Ariba Invoicing solution with the error DOC-46: Copy document failed. When I check the detailed error, I see the following message in the cXML response:

Error: Error: ariba.util.messaging.MessagingException: Invalid invoice error  Reason 1. ariba.cxml.core.CXMLInvalidCurrencyException: Missing or invalid currency [Currency]. Please contact support with the Error Reference Number: [Error #] for more details.
