3704007 - 'Calculate Average Value For Numeric Job Info Field()' Rule Function Returning Incorrect Result

• The 'Calculate Average Value For Numeric Job Info Field()' rule function does not return the expected result.
• Example: An employee has a value of 22 in the numeric job info field. However, the rule function calculates and returns a value of 29.83 for the calculation period defined in the rule parameters (e.g., January 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026).
• It has been confirmed via a Person and Employment Audit report that the value has remained consistent at 22 for the entire calculation period.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central > Time Off

1. Create a rule trace to log how the rule function is being processed.
2. Run the Time Account Process Simulator for the affected user.
3. Go back to the rule trace page and download the result log.
4. Review the rule trace and observe that the average value of the numeric job info field (e.g. custom-double1) being calculated by the 'Calculate Average Value For Numeric Job Info Field()' rule function is incorrect for the period defined in the rule parameters (e.g., January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026).
5. Note that the calculated figure in the rule trace, e.g. 29.8356164384 differs from the value in the job information field, which has consistently been 22 since the start of 2026.

The affected user has corrupt job information data. There are overlapping records present for the user, causing a certain period to be counted twice, which results in a larger-than-expected value.

1. Go to Check Tool > 'System Health' tab.
2. Under the 'Result Type' dropdown, uncheck all the options.
3. Run the check tool 'All Job Information records have consistent end dates' (JobInfoInconsistentEndDateCheck).
4. Identify the affected user in the results of the check tool.
5. Apply the quick fix provided by the check tool to correct the overlapping records in the job information data.

These steps will correct the data that is causing the calculation issue.
