Symptom
Document Info Records associated with the Bill Of Materials fail to transfer to production orders despite proper configuration.
Environment
SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to application 'Maintain Bill of Material'.
- Enter the BOM Material.
- Ensure the document is in Released status.
- Create a new production order using application 'Create Production orders'.
- Go to documents tab.
- Observe that the document linked to the BOM is not transferred.
Cause
The document type links solely to BOM, not to production orders. Production orders require object type PORDER (e.g., SPP).
Resolution
Follow the below steps to link the correct document type in the Bill of Materials for production orders :
- Ensure the document type linked to the BOM is appropriate for production orders. For example, document type SPP instead of SBO using application 'Maintain Bill of materials'.
- Update the BOM to include the correct document type.
- Save and release the BOM.
- Go to application 'Create production Orders'.
- Create a production order using respective plant and material.
- Verify the document transfer in the documents tab.
