3704147 - Edit permissions for cost center field behave inconsistently between "Take action" and "Edit button" in Latest People Profile

After enabling the latest people profile (PPX), edit permissions for the cost center field behave inconsistently:

• The field is editable when the manager uses "Take action."
• The field becomes read-only when the job details pencil icon is used.

1. Enable the latest people profile (PPX).
2. Assign edit permissions for the cost center field.
3. Attempt to edit the field using "Take action" - the field is editable.
4. Attempt to edit the field using the job details pencil icon - the field is read-only.

• In the Latest People Profile (PPX), if a field’s Visibility attribute is set to "View" in the Data Model, it cannot be set to "Edit" using business rules or role-based permissions. Similarly, if the Data Model allows "Edit" but role-based permission restricts a role to "View," the user will only view this field.
• The issue was caused by the field "cost center" being configured with "Edit" visibility in jobInfo but not in jobInfo_employee (View).

1. Navigate to "Manage Business Configuration" and expand the jobInfo HRIS Element.
2. Select "jobInfo_employee."
3. Change the Visibility attribute for the "cost center" field from "View" to "Edit."
4. Save the changes.
5. Verify that the cost center field is editable via both "Take action" and the pencil icon in the job details portlet.

Also, be careful when configuring Country-Specific fields or other Person Types in Manage Business Configuration.
