3704487 - Configuration in 'Field Status per Contract Type' not considered in App 'Contract Management'

Symptom

In App 'Contract Management', the configuration maintained in SSCUI 103850 - 'Field Status per Contract Type' is not considered, settings related to fields marked as 'Hidden' or 'Required' is not honored.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to SSCUI 103850 - 'Field Status per Contract Type'.
  2. Customize field statuses as required.
  3. Observe that the configuration maintained for field status is not applied in App 'Contract Management'.

Cause

  • This functionality is intentional system design.
  • The configuration activity 'Field Status per Contract Type' is a legacy feature applicable only to the legacy GUI app 'Manage Contract'.
  • This configuration is not applicable to the 'Contract Management' Fiori app.

Resolution

  1. If field status customizing is required in SSCUI 103850 - 'Field Status per Contract Type', usage of the 'Manage Contract' GUI app is necessary.
  2. In case of 'Contract Management' Fiori App, this configuration has no effect, however BADI_RECN_CONTRACT_CHECK_ALL may be used to implement custom field validation.
