3704501 - IAS authentication is not working for an onboardee after rehire on old employment - Onboarding

Symptom

  • IAS is enabled for onboarding.
  • Validated the rehire user data in Data Inspector. The username in Data Inspector and the email information in IAS are correct after the user is accepted as a rehire on the old employment.
  • However, during the second rehire check in onboarding, a second activation email is sent from IAS after accepting the rehire on the old employment. This email is sent with an incorrect username (userId_XXXXX), which belongs to the intermediate onboardee, and it is also sent to an invalidated email address (<email>invalidXXXXX@domain).
  • IAS creates two accounts instead of reactivating the existing one. The account created during the initial onboarding remains active, while the account created after the rehire verification match is inactive.
