Warning occurs: "No possible because items with a debit bal. still exist; see job log" when generating payment proposal in the Process Payment Items for Invoices app.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Generate a payment proposal in the system.
2. Observe the warning message: "No possible because items with a debit bal. still exist; see job log".

The reasons for this warning are numerous. For specific details, refer to the resolution section.

• Error reason 1
  If the supplier owes you money, generating a payment proposal for the supplier will trigger a warning.
  Double-click the warning message. After clicking "OK" in the pop-up window, you can proceed with the payment.
• Error reason 2
  This payment proposal was generated by a journal entry that has already been paid. Therefore, it is not possible to select this payment proposal separately for payment.
  The payment cannot be processed further. This payment proposal needs to be removed.
• Error reason 3
  In the down payment scenario, the payment proposal generated for suppliers will include the completed down payments. The payment proposal for completed down payments need to be selected along with the payment proposal for outstanding payments for payment. The warning that has appeared at this time is due to the configuration blocking the payment consolidation.
  Follow the steps below:
  1. In the Maintain Business Partner app, locate the supplier, and in the "Supplier: Payment Transactions" section, uncheck the "Single Payment" option.
  2. Uncheck the "Single Payment for Marked Item" option as specified in SSCUI Set Up Payment Methods per Company Code for Payment Transactions (ID: 10104).
  3. Remove the payment proposal, regenerate it and select multiple lines for payment.
