3704853 - New pop-up windows in 1H 2025 blocking the help panel for authors in SAP Companion

Symptom

  • New pop-up windows in 1H 2025 block the help panel for authors, rendering it inaccessible.
  • When pop-up windows are used in SAP SuccessFactors, the help panel in the background becomes locked, preventing object addition.
  • This issue was not present before the latest release.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Core
  • SAP Companion

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log in to the system and open the help panel (click the "?" icon next to the search bar).
  2. Verify that the edit pencil icon is available.
  3. Open a tool with a pop-up window.
  4. Observe that the help panel is locked, and the pencil icon is no longer available for use.

Cause

New pop-up windows introduced in the 1H 2025 release are causing the help panel to be blocked by modal dialogs.

Resolution

  1. A patch has been planned to address the issue.
  2. The patch ensures the help panel carousel is positioned above modal dialogs from the UI5 web component library.
  3. The fix for this issue is planned to be deployed with the patch M2601p1 this month.
