3705341 - Smart Insights on Seamless Planning models: "Top contributors are not available on Datasphere Models with more than 20 candidates."

Symptom

  • Top contributors are not available when enabling Smart Insights in Seamless Planning models with more than 20 candidates.
  • Error message displayed: "Top contributors are not available on Datasphere Models with more than 20 candidates."

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2025
  • SAC Smart Insights

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Logon to SAC tenant.
  2. Create a Seamless Planning model based on Live connection to Datasphere.
  3. Create a story based on Seamless Planning model.
  4. Add a table or widget in the story.
  5. Click the ... button, select Smart Insights.
  6. Observe the message: "Top contributors are not available on Datasphere Models with more than 20 candidates."

Cause

  • The limitation when using Seamless Planning model, occurs due to the calculation of candidates, which includes dimensions, dimension attributes, and hierarchical dimension levels. Although the model contains fewer than 20 dimensions, the total number of candidates exceeds 20 due to hierarchical levels and other combinations.

Resolution
