3706074 - Automatic creation of sales order fails under scenario Advanced Intercompany Sales (5D2)

Symptom

After the creation of purchase order via intercompany, the sales order is not created automatically even though "CVI" link is established successfully between customer and vendor.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a purchase order in the selling company to the supplying company.
  2. Observe that the corresponding sales order in the supplying company is not automatically created in the background.

Cause

The customer is mapped to a sales organization that might not be matching the sales organization assigned under the purchase order and hence the system cannot determine which sales organization should create the sales order for.

Resolution

Ensure that a mapping exists for the customer and the sales organization assigned to the purchase order under the configuration activity "Define Internal Customer Number by Sales Organization".

If the mapping is missing, maintain the required entry and save the changes.
