3707312 - Business Partner Name displays with extra space when split across Name1 and Name2 Fields

Symptom

When a Business Partner name exceeds 40 characters and is split into 40-character segments across Name1, Name2 an extra space is automatically inserted between the first segment (Name1) and the second segment (Name2) when the Business Partner is displayed.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Business Partner in the 'Manage Business Partner Master Data' app.
  2. Observe the spaces added between Name1 and Name2.

Cause

This behavior is as per system design.

Resolution

  • When a Business Partner name is displayed, the system automatically inserts spaces between the Name fields (Name1, Name2, Name3, and Name4).
  • It is recommended to create a meaningful abbreviation for the Business Partner name to avoid unintended spacing in the displayed name.
