3707453 - Job Location Not Updated in Job Requisition When Triggered via Business Rule - Recruiting Management

Symptom

  • The Get Job Location() function does not populate or update the target Job Requisition field when triggered via a Business Rule configured on On Save or On Change. (Configuration of Get Job Location (): 3587439 - 1H 2025 - Using Business Rules to update new Job Location - Recruiting - SAP for Me)
  • Despite the Business Rule being triggered successfully, the Job Location field remains blank or unchanged in the Job Requisition.
  • When the “Initiate Migration” action is manually executed from Set Up Job Location Mapping → Initiate Migration, the Job Location is populated correctly in the expected Job Requisition field.
  • The inconsistent behavior occurs only when using Business Rules, while manual migration produces the expected result.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Cause

  • The affected Job Requisition fields are configured with multiselect="true". Business Rules do not support multiselect fields.
  • This occurs because the corresponding Job Location record in Manage Data > Job Location does not contain a maintained translation for the required locale (for example, Spanish).

Resolution

To resolve the issue:

  • Ensure that Business Rules are not configured on fields marked as multiselect="true". Business Rules, including the use of functions such as Get Job Location(), are only supported on single-select or non-multiselect fields.
  • Ensure that the required language translations are maintained for the affected Job Location record.

    1. Navigate to Admin Center > Manage Data.

    2. Select Job Location and open the specific location being used in the Business Rule.

    3. Check the Translations section (for example, City, State, or other relevant fields).

    4. Populate the missing translation values for the needed locale (such as Spanish).

    5. Save the changes and retest the Business Rule behavior.
